マッチングアプリがiOSの4.3でリジェクトされた。App Storeの審査が通らない理由は？

「せっかくマッチングアプリを開発したのに、App Storeの審査で通らない…。」とお悩みではないですか？

今回の記事はマッチングアプリがApp Storeの審査で通らない理由を、過去にマッチングアプリを2度リリースした私の実体験をもとにご紹介していきます。

4.3.0 Design: Spamとは？

App Storeにマッチングアプリを申請し、リジェクトされたときに下記のようなメールが届いたかと思います。

Guideline 4.3 - Design - Spam


Your app primarily features dating features. As such, it duplicates the content and functionality of many other similar apps currently available on the App Store.

While these app features may be useful, informative or entertaining, we simply have enough of these types of apps on the App Store, and they are considered a form of spam.

We encourage you to review your app concept and incorporate different content and features that are in compliance with the App Store Review Guidelines.

日本語で簡単に要約すると、「あなたのアプリは主にデート機能を備えていますが、App Storeには類似のアプリが多数あるのでスパムとみなされます。App Storeのガイドラインに準拠した他のアプリと異なる内容と機能を取り入れて、アプリコンセプトを見直してください。」となります。
つまり、ガイドライン4.3に従っていないのでアプリを作り直してくださいということです。

では4.3 Design: Spamとはいったい何なのでしょうか。Apple Storeのガイドラインでは下記のように記されています。

4.3 Spam

Don’t create multiple Bundle IDs of the same app. If your app has different versions for specific locations, sports teams, universities, etc., consider submitting a single app and provide the variations using in-app purchase. Also avoid piling on to a category that is already saturated; the App Store has enough fart, burp, flashlight, fortune telling, dating, drinking games, and Kama Sutra apps, etc. already. We will reject these apps unless they provide a unique, high-quality experience. Spamming the store may lead to your removal from the Apple Developer Program.

この文章で最も重要なのは以下の部分です。

App Storeには既にいくつもの放屁、げっぷ、懐中電灯、占い、デート、飲みゲー、カーマスートラのアプリがあります。これらのアプリはユニークで高品質な体験を提供しない限り、拒否される可能性があります。

ほとんどの場合、マッチングアプリがリジェクトされるのはこの文章に該当してしまっていることが理由です。
マッチングアプリはすでにApp Storeにたくさんあるので、これ以上リリースさせませんというものですね。
ではマッチングアプリをはじめ、今後これらのカテゴリーのアプリは新しくリリースすることはできないのでしょうか？
答えは「No」です。

私も同じ理由で何度もリジェクトされましたが、適切な形で対処することでマッチングアプリを2度リリースすることができました。
